CLM India is dedicated to supporting widows and aged individuals, demonstrating the love of Christ by addressing their needs and empowering them to live strong and happy lives.
The Plight of Widowhood in India
Widowhood in India is a distressing reality, often akin to a “living death.” Deprivation, starvation, and social exclusion plague many widows, exacerbated by deep-rooted religious superstitions and cultural practices. Indian society frequently marginalizes widows, viewing them as inauspicious and forcing them into isolated, depressed, and frustrated lives.
Social Exclusion and Stigma
Many people in India believe that widows are unfortunate and bring bad luck. As a result:
They are often not invited to social events like weddings, birthday parties, and family functions.
They are excluded from participating in cultural and religious ceremonies.
They are frequently shunned by their own families and communities.
Each case is considered carefully, and if any widow has family members or relatives, they are encouraged to take care of their own flesh and blood. That way, the burden for caring for the widows is not simply rolled onto the churches, and only those in the greatest need make it onto the list.
Biblical Perspective
The Bible teaches us to care for and honor widows:
“Do not take advantage of the widow or the fatherless.” (Exodus 22:22)
“Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress.” (James 1:27)
“Learn to do right; seek justice. Defend the oppressed. Take up the cause of the fatherless; plead the case of the widow.” (Isaiah 1:17)

There are over 40 million widows in India, with 7% living alone.
70% of widows in India are under the age of 60.

CLM India Initiative
Founded on biblical principles, CLM India’s ” initiative provides consistent monthly support of $30 to each widow, covering essential needs like food, clothing, and medicine.
Current Impact and Future Goals
Currently, 30 widows in village churches benefit from our ministry. However, 85 widows and 30 elderly people require support. Your assistance can help make a meaningful difference in their lives.
In past centuries, the practice of sati in India involved a widow being burned alive on her husband’s funeral pyre. It was believed by some that this act would allow her to join and serve her husband in the afterlife. Facing the prospect of a challenging life as a widow in that era, some women chose to voluntarily immolate themselves in this manner.

The government’s inability to provide sufficient water supply has led to widespread sickness, disease, and human suffering. Our organization has identified this pressing issue and is dedicated to making a difference.
The Solution: Borewell Ministry
Our borewell ministry has been a resounding success, providing living water to various villages through newly dug borewells. As funds become available, we continue to dig more wells, supporting local churches and villagers in the process.

Helping Hands for Leprosy Sufferers in India
India reports the highest number of leprosy cases globally, with approximately 140,000 new diagnoses annually. Despite the government’s claim of eradication in 2006, the reality on the ground is starkly different. Leprosy’s debilitating effects lead to loss of limbs and lifelong suffering, compounded by societal stigma and rejection.

Loss of sensation in nerve endings, leading to unnoticed injuries and infections
Gradual loss of fingers, hands, toes, and feet

Leprosy Ministry
India accounts for 60% of global leprosy cases. Unfortunately, people affected by leprosy in India often face social stigma, leading to isolation, ostracism, and marginalization. This can impact their access to employment, quality education, and even marriage.
Our ministry aims to serve those affected by leprosy by providing essential support. This includes:
Nutritious meals and food distribution programs
Clothing, blankets, and other basic necessities
Medical assistance, such as wheelchairs and handicap equipment for those in need
Our goal is to share the love of Jesus Christ while meeting the physical needs of individuals impacted by leprosy.
Feeding the Hungry in India’s Slums
At CLM India, we are deeply moved by the silent suffering in India’s slums. Our mission is to serve the poor with compassion by feeding them physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually — all for the glory of God.
The Harsh Reality: Life in India’s Slums
India’s slum areas are home to millions of people living in extreme poverty, where survival is a daily struggle. These communities are often made up of makeshift huts, narrow, crowded alleys, and overburdened sanitation systems. Clean drinking water, healthcare, education, and regular meals are luxuries few can afford.
In these areas:
Children often grow up malnourished, barefoot, and without access to school.
Men, often working as daily wage laborers, struggle to bring home enough food even for one meal.
The elderly and disabled are frequently forgotten, with no social support.
Despite these conditions, these communities are filled with resilience, vibrant cultures, and untapped potential.
India’s Hunger Crisis: The Numbers Speak

190 million Indians go to bed hungry each night
Malnutrition stunts growth, affects brain development, and leads to preventable deaths, especially among young children. In many slums, children die quietly — not from illness alone, but from hunger itself.
Our Response: The Slum Feeding Program
CLM India has built relationships with local leaders and families in slum areas across India. Through our Slum Feeding Program, we provide:
Free hot meals to children, elderly, and daily wage earners
Nutrition support to malnourished families
Emergency food kits for those affected by natural disasters or job loss
Seasonal relief during monsoon, heatwaves, and winter cold spells
Each meal is a message of love, care, and dignity. Feeding the poor is more than charity — it’s a lifeline.

Medical Camps – Healing Hands of Hope
Our Medical Camps are a vital outreach of Christian Living Ministry, offering free health check-ups, medical consultations, blood tests, and essential medicines to people living in remote villages and underserved communities across India. Inspired by Christ’s compassion and healing ministry, we aim to bring hope, healing, and dignity to those who suffer without access to basic healthcare.
In many tribal and rural areas, people face life-threatening challenges due to the lack of medical facilities, proper diagnosis, clean water, and hygienic living conditions. Without access to doctors or medicines, some even lose their lives from otherwise treatable conditions. Our medical camps step into these gaps—bringing professional healthcare directly to the people who need it most.

Basic diagnostic tests such as blood pressure, blood sugar, and hemoglobin
Health education and hygiene awareness
